"Moroccan news outlets are reporting that Fenerbahce S.K. are seeking to sign unsettled FC Porto winger Tarik Sektioui.
The player has struggled mightily this season to earn first team minutes under coach Jesualdo Ferreira and is unlikely to extend his contract with the Portuguese side when his contract expires this season.
The lack of playing time has hurt the thirty-one-year old’s international career as well. Roger Lemerre did not call on him for Morocco’s World Cup qualifying loss versus Gabon on March 28th despite the fact that the Frenchman is known to have a prefer experience over youth in official matches.
Despite his recent lack of competitive action, Sektioui’s technical skills remain in demand and Fernerbahce will face competition from his former club, AJ Auxerre, and others when they attempt to secure his signature at season’s end.
The skillful winger played his first two seasons in Europe with Auxerre when he moved from Maghreb Fez in 1997. The 11th placed French Ligue 1 side have already communicated their interest to their former player and see him as the perfect addition to their unproductive offense.
It is unclear which destination the North African will favor but it appears almost certain that he will not be playing for FC Porto next season."
